Filippo is a Senior Lecturer in maritime and commercial law at the University of Southampton and the Director of the Institute of Maritime Law since March 2010. He is qualified both as an Avvocato in Italy and as a Solicitor in England and Wales and is a consultant to the firm.

Filippo is an expert on the law of charterparties, bills of lading, commodity sales on CIF and FOB terms, Incoterms and letters of credit.  He has also worked on several projects for the European Commission on maritime law reform.
